An Inspired Romantic Table Styled by 2 the 9s Events

We took some time to chat with Elizabeth Bainbridge, founder of the full-service event planning company 2 the 9s Events and designer of  the Inspired Romantic themed tablescape from our Wedding Blog Launch Party held at Blu Bungalow. Read about the inspiration behind her whimsical design, her tips choosing colors for your wedding (Hint: It involves paint chips!) and more.

Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself and 2 the 9s Events?

A: I began my event career producing launch events for a interiors company. I then worked for a corporate concierge firm and thereafter moved on to a destination management company. It was these experiences that contributed to my decision to branch out on my own. I am dedicated to creating unique, personal and hassle-free events, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. I work with clients to develop creative solutions which reflect their personality and event needs.

Q: What was inspiration behind your design?

A:  With the Inspired Romantic theme, I wanted the table design to reflect a brunch-style wedding in a garden setting.  I wanted to show that you can use Pottery Barn items in your home and also for your wedding.

Q: What was your favorite Pottery Barn item used and why did you select it?

A:  I loved the Bird Cage Drink Dispenser Stand and drink dispenser.  Inside, I chose to create a colorful drink —  pink grapefruit mimosa with slices of lime! It provided the table with a whimsical addition of color and was a refreshing beverage for the guests to enjoy.  Also, it showed that a practical item could be used as a design element.

Q: Can you share any styling secrets or tips?

A.  A number of clients are stumped with what colors they would like to work with for their wedding.  I encourage them to go to a paint store and look at paint chips.  This step helps to narrow down color options and help them begin to visualize the look and feel of their wedding.

Q: Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples that are starting the wedding planning process?

A.  Hire a wedding planner!  A planner is an asset and a part of your team. A planner is there to assist you in navigating through the planning process, suggest quality vendors within budget, advise on etiquette, manage logistics and much more.  Most importantly, the services provided by a planner allows the couple and their families and friends, to be thoroughly present on their wedding day.
